Economy Hotel Hoteiya was a solid choice for my budget stay in Tokyo. the location was fantastic, just a short walk to the Minami station and even to Sensoji Temple. However, the communal showers and toilets felt a bit cramped at times. Overall, it met my basic needs during my travels.

Rooms

The room was quite small but comfortable enough for budget travel. I appreciated the air-conditioning and TV, although the mattress could have been more comfortable. I did miss not having towels provided.
Service

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. they helped me find cheap dining options nearby and offered 24-hour hot and cold tea, which was a nice touch.

Hoteiya is well-situated, just a short walk from the train station. making it easy to explore Tokyo. Plus, there's a supermarket next door for quick meals.
Dining

Dining options were limited within the hotel, but the local supermarket made it easy to grab inexpensive meals. I also loved the free drink options available on each floor.
Facilities

The communal bathroom facilities were adequate but could feel crowded. and I didn’t mind the shared showers, even if they sometimes had waiting times.

Economy Hotel Hoteiya offers a very budget-friendly stay in Tokyo, especially for backpackers, being close to Minami Station and not far from Sensoji Temple. While the cleanliness and location are definite pros, the shared bathroom facilities and the small size of the rooms can be drawbacks, particularly if you're traveling with multiple people.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms are quite small, but they come with basic amenities like air conditioning and Wi-Fi. However, the bedding can be uncomfortable, and there is minimal space to move around.
Service
5.0
Staff were generally helpful, though I did notice some inconsistency in customer service during my stay. It seemed more attentive last year than this visit.
Location
8.0
The hotel is conveniently located near Minami Station, making it easy to navigate the city, and is just a hop away from the local grocery store for food options.
Dining
7.0
There are several dining options nearby, including fast food chains and local restaurants. Plus, a supermarket next to the hotel provides affordable food choices for when you're on the go.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel has shared facilities, including communal showers and bathrooms. While they are adequate, the limited number of showers can be inconvenient during busy hours.

Economy Hotel Hoteiya was definitely a solid choice for budget travelers like me. The room was super tiny but quiet, plus the location was pretty good, not far from a train station. I appreciated the decent amenities, but the shared bathrooms were a bit cramped. Overall, it worked well for my needs, but keep in mind it's not luxurious—just a place to crash.

Rooms
6.0
The room was quite small, just barely enough space for me and my bags. However, it was clean and quiet, making it decent for rest. The low ceilings made it feel a tad claustrophobic, but overall, it did the job.
Service
7.0
The staff were generally helpful and attentive, navigating the hotel policies with ease despite some strict rules. I did notice some inconsistency in the level of service, but nothing that really bothered me.
Location
7.0
The hotel is pretty close to Minami station, which made it easy to get around Tokyo. There were also convenience stores and restaurants nearby. It’s a bit far to walk to Sensoji Temple, though, but the subway connections are solid.
Dining
8.0
I loved that there was a supermarket close by for cheap food options. Plus, the free hot and cold drinks 24/7 were a nice touch after a long day.
Facilities
5.0
The shared bathrooms were a mixed bag—while they were functional, only having two and not separated by gender was a downside. The laundry facilities were handy, though, especially after getting caught in a rainstorm.

The room was really small, just enough space for the futon, but it was comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed the Japanese-style pillows, even if they weren't for everyone.
Service

Service was alright, though I noticed some inconsistency this time around compared to my last visit. The staff were generally attentive but lacked a bit in friendliness.
Location
8.0
The location was convenient, being close to a supermarket and the metro station. It took about ten minutes to walk to the nearby station, but I found it easy to access.
Dining
7.0
There weren't many dining options near the hotel, but I discovered a nice little supermarket for cheap meals. Plus, I loved having access to free hot and cold drinks anytime.
Facilities

The shared bathrooms were decent and well-maintained. However, the mixed toilets did have some unpleasant smells, and I wish there were more shower facilities available.

Staying at Economy Hotel Hoteiya was an excellent decision for my budget trip to Tokyo. The room was quite small, but I found it comfortable and quiet, which made it easy to rest after my long days exploring the city. The shared bathrooms and communal areas were generally clean and had all the amenities I needed. While the location was decent, being close to subway access and local restaurants, it wasn't in the heart of the most touristy areas. Overall, it was a great value for the price.

The location was reasonably good, with convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and easy access to the subway. It took just a couple of stops to get to the main Yamanote line, but it felt a bit far from major tourist attractions.

There were several local dining choices within walking distance, including a 7-11 and a small grocery store, making it easy to stock up on snacks or grab a quick meal.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel provided adequate facilities, including shared bathrooms and showers that were generally clean. I made good use of the free Wi-Fi and appreciated having access to a laundry area, although the dryers were not very powerful.
